The president of RTVE, José Manuel Pérez Tornero, confirmed this Thursday that the disciplinary file opened by the macho comments that were heard on his Facebook profile during the broadcast of the red carpet of the Goya Awards Gala has concluded with the imposition of sanctions on two workers.

He said it during his appearance before the Mixed Commission of Parliamentary Control of the RTVE Corporation and its Societies in the Congress of Deputies, in which he again apologized for these events. In the broadcast of the red carpet, a string of macho comments about the actresses who marched, such as Marta Nieto, or the singer Nathy Peluso, could be heard through the ambient microphone.

“This is called Marta Nieto and, I tell you one thing, she is the best of all because the others were all skeletons. Only Nathy Peluso and one who looked like a verbenero whore, full of tattoos, that I say ‘I don’t know where They have taken this one out. “This cobra, sure, but whore, whore, sure. What a paints, male”, were some of the niceties that could be heard.

A “very serious” offense

Given the commotion caused by the comments, RTVE issued a statement in which it apologized and reported the opening of an information file on what happened. During his intervention, Pérez Tornero explained that the file has concluded with the imposition of sanctions on two workers, one of which has been sanctioned for a serious offense, and the other for a very serious offense.

He also announced that, at the request of the Equality Observatory of the public entity, it has been agreed reinforce training and awareness-raising actions to the entire staff in matters of equality. It should be remembered that the RTVE Equality Observatory acted ex officio in the face of these events and opened another file to adopt the appropriate actions.
