Leg of American child attacked by crocodile is amputated in Cancun

Quintana Roo.- Due to the severity of his injuries, doctors they amputated a leg al american child attacked by a alligator Friday night on the golf course of a Cancun resort.

The attack occurred on the night of June 18 at kilometer 21.5 of the hotel zone. The hotel is located near the Nizuc bridge where there are warning signs for the presence of crocodiles, but tourists do not expect one to walk inside the golf course.

The 8-10-year-old boy was playing in an area of ​​the hotel’s golf course located on Kukulcán Boulevard, when he was attacked by a crocodile about 3 meters long.

The huge animal after grabbing it with its jaws tried to take it to the mangrove, but the screams of horror from the boy’s family scared the crocodile.

The boy was rescued and taken to a private hospital, where in the early morning the amputation of his leg was required due to the severity of the injuries.

According to local media, the hotel staff tried to handle the accident discreetly and without giving notice to the authorities, however, the news came to light.

It is unofficially mentioned that the tourist complex does not have precautionary signs for crocodiles, in addition to that it allegedly does not have surveillance personnel in the areas.
