Cinemas and theaters in Mexico City will be medium risk sites;  These are the new measures

The government of the Mexico City announced reforms to Regulation of the Comprehensive Risk Management and Civil Protection Law, presenting new adaptations for the case of recreational places such as cinemas and theaters.

With it, both cinemas and theaters as all types of public entertainment establishments will be considered sites of medium risk, as long as these do not exceed a thousand square meters, it was announced in the Official Gazette of Mexico City.

Likewise, with these new indications, only establishments with a capacity of up to one hundred people, including establishment workers, will be considered as medium risk.

“For the purposes of Internal Programs, commercial and industrial establishments other than those of zonal or neighborhood impact, as well as shopping centers, libraries, cinemas, theaters or establishments in general for public shows, self-service stores that do not exceed 1,000 meters squares and / or a capacity of up to 100 people, will be considered medium risk “, it is read in the new indications presented in the official Gazette.

In the case of establishments such as malls, libraries, as well as cinemas Y theatersThey will be considered as high risk sites if they exceed a thousand square meters or a capacity of more than one hundred people, as previously stated.

As of next Monday, June 21, the date on which these reforms come into force, all sports, entertainment, spectacle and cultural activities in closed venues and with a capacity greater than 1,500 attendees may operate with 25 percent of maximum capacity.

Returning to the specific case of cinemas, the general rooms may operate with an afora no greater than 50 percent of their capacity, while in VIP rooms a maximum of 60 percent will be allowed.

Aquariums, drive-ins, gyms, libraries, museums, amusement parks, and shopping malls They will also be allowed to operate with the 60 percent maximum capacity.

On the other hand, establishments whose main business is the sale of prepared foods may operate according to the hours allowed in their operating permit, with a capacity of 60 percent and ensuring a maximum of six diners per table in closed places and eight in the case of places outdoor.

Billiards, bowling alleys, casinos and betting houses They will have permission to operate until 12:00 am as the cutoff time.
