Forest fire could be extinguished before it spread

After the spread was successfully stopped, the fire brigade began to extinguish the numerous embers directly. After about 2 hours of sweaty work, the forest fire was extinguished.

Due to the massive risk of forest fire, the fire brigade has an urgent request:

  • Do not throw away cigarette butts carelessly, but dispose of them properly and, above all, no longer glowing
  • Do not grill near the forest or on dry meadows
  • Do not park cars at the edge of the forest or in meadows, as the hot catalytic converters can generate sparks on the exhaust
  • do not disperse flammable liquids, glass or other garbage in the environment

Temperatures in NRW continued to be very high on Friday

Temperatures of up to 37 degrees are expected again for Friday, and there may be occasional heat thunderstorms from the afternoon onwards.

However, the meteorologists do not expect a significant cooling and also some rain from Sunday at the earliest. That would mean a rest for nature, at least temporarily, but also less work for the fire brigade. (fb)
