A second mother of Free Childhood sentenced to two years in prison for child abduction

The judge also withdraws Patricia’s parental authority for four years, who kept her daughter away from her father for two years, whom she falsely denounced for sexual abuse.

From right to the left Maria (2) and Patricia (4), two of the convicts of the Free Childhood association.

Patricia, the mother of a 12-year-old girl who was estranged from her father for two years, and a member of the Free Childhood association, has been sentenced to two years in prison for child abduction. The sentence, the one that has had access to this newspaper, is the second conviction against a mother of this association for the same crime, after Mara Sevilla, the association’s president, was also sentenced to two years in October last year.

The ruling of the judge of the criminal court number 11 of Madrid, also condemns this mother to four years of loss of parental authority of the child.

Her father, Daniel I. Aguirre, spent two years without knowing if his daughter was alive or dead. During that time the mother repeatedly violated the visitation regime that she had established and the father filed dozens of complaints with the police station, each time she did not show up with the girl at the meeting point.

The girl spent a good part of her time out of school, and the Assigned Unit of the National Police to the Courts and the Public Prosecutor of Madrid found her living in the small mountain town of La Cabrera.

It was precisely the arrest of Mara Sevilla in a town in Cuenca, where he had kept his son hidden, also separated from his father and from the school, which reactivated all Daniel’s complaints and got the same group that had started the investigation to take charge of his case.

These two already convicted mothers agreed not only to be members of the same association, but also to have a common group of legal and psychological advisers, and also to use the same procedures against their ex-partners. In both cases, the two denounced them for sexual abuse against their own children once the court decisions were brought against them.

The suspicion of the Police was always that before the setbacks in the courts to try to withdraw custody or the regime of visits to parents, both falsely resorted to allegations of abuse and, finally, to the abduction of minors and their unschooling.

The judicial process in these cases has been very long and it is still to be expected that it will continue, since the mother will appeal the sentence without a doubt. Daniel had to face in court on several occasions the complaints of abuse against his daughter that Patricia had put him. In all cases he was exonerated.
