The National Office of Electoral Processes (ONPE) reported that, 100% of the records recorded for the second round of the Peru General Elections of 2021, the presidential candidate of Peru Libre, Pedro Castillo, surpasses by 44,058 votes his contestant on Fuerza Popular, Keiko Fujimori.

Terrones Castle reached a 50,125% of the valid votes ahead of the candidate of Fuerza Popular, who has a 49,875%, according to the updated report of the electoral body. Nevertheless, The nullity requests have yet to be resolved presented by both Fuerza Popular and Peru Libre, that will be solved by the National Elections Jury (JNE) in the coming days.

At 3:19 p.m. on Tuesday, June 15, the ONPE published these results, which correspond to 100% of the records processed worldwide, including 100% of the minutes counted with votes abroad.

Total, Pedro Castillo has 8,835,579 votes, while Keiko Fujimori has 8,791,521 The difference between the two candidates is 44,058 votes.

Nevertheless, The nullity requests have yet to be resolved presented by both Fuerza Popular and Peru Libre, by the special electoral juries (JEE). And in case appeals are presented, by the National Elections Jury (JNE).

SIGHT: ONPE results at 100% of recorded minutes: Pedro Castillo 50.125% and Keiko Fujimori 49.875%

According to the Ipsos Peru exit box issued on June 6 at 7:00 pm, Keiko Fujimori obtained 50.3% of the votes cast, while Pedro Castillo 49.07%, in what is called a technical tie.

However, Ipsos Peru’s quick count at 100% placed Peru Libre’s presidential candidate in first place on the ballot, after obtaining 50.2% of the votes cast. The Fuerza Popular candidate obtained 49.8% in these results.

It should be noted that on Sunday, June 6, more than 25 million Peruvians worldwide were authorized to vote in their respective voting locations to elect the next President of the Republic for the period 2021-2026.
