Beats is expanding its line of truly wireless headphones today with the new Beats Studio Buds. After several weeks of buzz, the new Beats Studio Buds are available starting today in the US and Canada. This device stands out for its active noise cancellation, transparency mode, USB-C charging and more. Broadly speaking, it is an improved version of the AirPods Pro.
How is its sound?
Like its predecessor, the Beats Studio buttons support standby mode. active noise cancellation and transparency. ANC blocks unwanted external noise, including wind noise, through adaptive gain control in real time. The transparency mode, on the other hand, uses external microphones to mix the sounds of its surroundings with the music.
Studio Buds were designed and manufactured to prioritize high-quality audio playback and overall comfortNo matter if you are listening to music, streaming a movie, or chatting with a friend. The ergonomically angled acoustic mouthpiece features a laser-cut micro-vent to ensure relief of pressure on the eardrum.
Sweat and water resistant
For Apple Music users, Beats Studio Buds also includes support for the Spatial Audio feature recently released. This Dolby Atmos technology brings immersive 3D sound to thousands of songs on Apple Music.
Finally more hours of listening!
Has 5 hours of battery life with ANC or Transparency enabled, 8 hours without either enabled. 24 hours of playback combined with the charging case, which features a USB-C port.
An improved and more ergonomic design
Beats Studio Buds feature a in-ear design similar to the AirPods Pro, but without a stem protruding from the bottom. This makes them incredibly compact, especially compared to the Powerbeats Pro. Beats says the Beats Studio Buds represent its smallest and most subtle form factor to date, with each earbud weighing 5.1 grams.
Instead of capacitive touch controls like Apple’s AirPods, Beats Studio Buds use a physical button at the ends of both buttons for controls.
When it comes to connectivity, Beats confirmed to 9to5Mac than the Beats Studio Buds do not have Apple H1 or W1 chip. Instead, they are using a proprietary Beats chipset for connectivity. This actually has no effect on performance and Beats Studio Buds works just as well as AirPods, but without automatic device switching and iCloud syncing for pairing.
Beats Studio Buds is also compatible with the app Find My de Apple, but there is no U1 chip, so you can use the app instead Find My on iOS as well as the app Find My Device on Android, to locate your lost Studio Buds via their last known location when they were paired via Bluetooth. You can also play a sound on them when they are close.
Price and availability
The Beats Studio Buds are 100 euros cheaper than the AirPods Pro and Powerbeats Pro. This makes them an outstanding device in the Beats and Apple line of headphones, particularly for those who want an on-ear design that is still truly wireless.
Starting today, Beats Studio Buds are available for pre-order at the Apple website (currently only in the US and Canada), as well as in Amazon, although they are temporarily out of stock. Also, unlike AirPods, Beats Studio Buds are available in three different colors: white, black and red.
