Francisco José Delgado (Pacojó) —like millions of fans of the Spanish national team— likes to watch football eating a sandwich And, since he knows that Ricard Camarena has a good hand, last Friday he decided to challenge him: with what sandwich could we have a snack in Sweden, which is the team against which La Roja debuts in the Eurocup, starting at 9:00 p.m.?

Although there was little time, the Valencian chef responded immediately by accepting the challenge launched by Cadena SER and this Monday he presented a succulent sandwich in which he mixes one of the most iconic dishes of popular Swedish cuisine – the meatballs, Ikea style– with some touches of a Valencian town that, for obvious reasons, has also been remembered: Sueca!

Ricard Camarena’s Swedish sandwich, then, has meatballs stewed with meat broth, onion pickled in vinegar, peanuts (typical of the Valencian breakfast), a touch of dill and also a nod to Albufera: smoked eel.

The sandwich is for sale at service delivery by Canalla Bistró (salad, sandwich and ice cream pack, 25 euros), but it is not advisable to miss the offer of sandwiches of Central Bar, the chef’s specialty restaurant in market cuisine in the Central Market of València.

Of course, whether or not he lives in Valencia, Anyone who wants to eat Sweden tonight can prepare a similar one at home. It will not be as good as that of Ricard Camarena, but surely, watching La Roja, it is just as enjoyable.

From Cadena SER, in addition, we are already preparing new gastronomic challenges to continue enjoying football as we like best: with a sandwich!
