Poland – Slovakia 1: 1 (0: 1)

Tore: 0: 1 Mak (18.), 1: 1 Linetty (46.)

50.: What a turbo start for the Poles after the break! Obviously they have planned a lot. The equalization is of course a shock for Slovakia.

46 .: TOOOOR for Poland!

There’s more in it! With the first action in the second round, the Poles equalize. Linetty does it. But this kullerball after a low cross was not untenable.

46.: Go on! Lewandowski and Co are now under pressure. There has to be more to the underdog than in the first half.

At halftime: The Poles controlled the initial phase, but with the surprising Mak hit – aided by a goalkeeping mistake – the Slovaks gained a lot of self-confidence. Despite less possession of the ball, Slovakia is the more consistent team and does not lead to an undeserved break.

45th + 2: halftime! The Poles cannot be satisfied here – and so there are some whistles to be heard as the teams go into the break.

42.: Lewandowski looks like lost at the front. When he gets to the ball, like now, he is played in absolute distress and has little room for maneuver. His shot gets stuck on the first opponent. Not good from the Poles, who better unlock him.

34.: Krychowiak benefits from a misunderstanding in the Slovak build-up game and doesn’t hesitate for long. However, his violent shot from a good 18 meters goes just over the gate.

27.: Dangerous shot from a distance! Kucka takes measurements – and places the ball just a few centimeters above the crossbar. Not much was missing for the second Slovakian goal.

25.: 70 percent possession for the Poles so far. But the hit gave the Slovak outsiders a boost. Can Lewandowski and Co quickly counteract this?

21.: By the way, UEFA rated the goal as the own goal of the unfortunate Szczesny. You can rate it that way!

18 .: TOOOOR for Slovakia!

Brief confusion! Is it really there? Yes! Mak pulls in from the outside, because there are no pass stations in the middle, he simply holds onto it from an acute angle – post, goal! Szczesny actually has to hold it.

14.: First good finish for the Slovaks, in the person of Duda: With several step-overs, he lets a Polish defender stand on the left, pulls into the middle and tries flat in the short corner from the edge of the sixteen. A few inches past!

12.: Poland is increasingly taking control of the game, but does not find the gap on the last pass. The Slovaks have meanwhile been pushed back far into their own half.

5.: Disordered start on both sides. Lewandowski comes into possession of the ball for the first time near the penalty area and immediately it gets loud in the Gazprom Arena. But the Pole, on which almost all the fans’ hopes rest, does not get the ball under control. No graduation.

1. Minute: The ball is rolling! Who will take the first win in Group E?

5:57 p.m .: The hymen are sung along loudly, it is served. Let the game begin.

5:17 p.m .: The ball will roll in just under 40 minutes, here are the starting line-ups of the teams:

  • Poland: Szczesny – Bereszynski, Glik, Bednarek, Rybus – Krychowiak, Linetty, Klich – Jozwiak, Lewandowski, Zielinski
  • Slovakia: Dubravka – Pekarik, Satka, Skriniar, Hubocan – Kucka, Hromada, Haraslin, Mak, Hamsik – Duda

09:54 a.m .: The superstar of Slovakia, Marek Hamsik, got fit in time. “I feel fit and ready and I hope to be able to play for 90 minutes. We all can’t wait. You don’t play a European Championship very often. Especially when you’re from Slovakia, ”said the 33-year-old before the game.

Monday, 6.10 a.m .: Good morning and a good start into the new week! Today the world footballer finally starts the tournament. Robert Lewandowski and his Poles absolutely want to reach the knockout phase. But a win against Slovakia today would bring the first three important points.

Sunday, 8.26 p.m .: With Krzysztof Piatek and Arkadiusz Milik, the Polish team has to do without two offensive forces. This puts even more pressure on Lewandowski’s shoulders.

7:37 p.m .: For Slovakia it is only the second appearance ever at an EM. In their first tournament in 2016, the team failed in the round of 16 against Germany.

5:11 p.m .: Breathe a sigh of relief with Slovakia! The use of star player Marek Hamsik had recently been on the brink. But just in time for the start of the European Championship, he reports himself fit.
