In the last week, mainland Portugal registered an acceleration in the process of administering vaccines, translating into an average of 81,857 daily inoculations.
In the period between the 7th and 13th of June, the task force counted around 573 thousand administered vaccines, 45,000 more than in the last week analyzed.
The peak of vaccination occurred on Saturday, when a new record of inoculations was registered (more 193,000 in 24 hours).
Conversely, the number of vaccines administered last Friday (over 20 thousand) was the lowest in recent analyses.
Compared to the last week analyzed, an increase of 8.6% compared to the average number of vaccines administered daily is noticeable.
Until June 13, 42.4% of the continent’s population had already received the first dose of its vaccination schedule, with the total number of fully vaccinated people reaching 2,426 million – about 24.8% of the population. (The value is obtained after subtracting the number of known inhabitants in the Autonomous Regions).
Regarding the European Union, and according to data up to June 6th, Portugal occupies the ninth position in the list of countries with the most vaccination schemes completed, with Malta and Hungary appearing in the first places.
Until the 8th of June, and since the vaccination plan started, on the 27th of December 2020, Portugal has already received 7,263,540 vaccines. By comparison, Germany has received more than 61 million doses and France has already had access to around 46.5 million vaccines against covid-19.
