They were there in episode one, among others: Andy Borg, Zillertaler Haderlumpen, Joey Heindle, Die Nockis, Jürgen Drews and Patrick Lindner. But Mross also visits his Anna Carina Woitschack on the show.

When Stefan Mross and Andy Borg talked about Schlager icon Rex Gildo († 63), who died in 1999, it got really emotional. A former long-time housekeeper of Gildo, who was also a close friend of his at the same time, was switched on via video switch: Annegret Biehn (70). For 25 years she was the woman at the singer’s side, started her job at the age of 24 – that’s when Gildo just landed his super hit “Fiesta Mexikana”.

Stefan Mross makes old friend of Rex Gildo cry

At the beginning of the conversation with Stefan Mross and Andy Borg, the elderly woman fought back tears. But when Mross then asked how Rex Gildo had been so private, she could no longer hold the emotions. With tears and a broken voice, Biehn said: “He was such a wonderful person. He was always present and we were like a big family. “

How close the relationship with Gildo was, Biehn revealed in an interview with “Schlager.de” last year: “The years with him were the best in my whole life.”

“Always on Sundays”: Stefan Mross and Andy Borg sing the Rex Gildo Medley

After this emotional conversation, Stefan Mross and Andy Borg want to do the senior citizen a favor – and sing a Rex-Gildo medley in a duet. “Marie, the last dance is just for you”, agree the two singers – and Annegret Biehn remains visibly moved.

There is still great mourning for Rex Gildo – he died in 1999 after falling from the second floor. Whether it was an accident or suicide could never be conclusively determined. (mg)
