There are 3 thousand 787 skeletal remains found in the house of the Atizapán femicide

Toluca.- The Attorney General’s Office of the State of Mexico (FGJEM) found 3 thousand 787 skeletal remains in the house of the Atizapán serial feminicide less than a month after the excavations began.

According to information published by the Mexican Prosecutor’s Office, the excavations that are still in progress began on May 17 of the current year in the property located in Colonia Lomas de San Miguel, where Andres Mendoza he served as a landlord.

The expert analyzes of the remains found in the building indicate that they may have belonged to 17 people. For this reason, the FGJEM began with the analysis of 600 investigation folders on disappearance of persons from 1990 to 2021.

The Prosecutor’s Office also revealed the location of 53 video recordings, 28 of which were made on 8 mm format videocassettes, and 25 more on VHS format videocassettes.

Similarly, the Mexican authorities found 29 snapshots, 44 medium photographs, 17 children, and one passport size; 2 scales, a knife, a machete, 8 books of various sizes, 5 notebooks of various sizes, 8 cell phones, 12 cell phone chips, 8 nail polishes, 5 bracelets, 6 necklaces, 4 pairs of earrings, 3 rings, 2 women’s wallets and 9 different sets of keys, according to information from Reforma.

“All the evidence found is being analyzed by specialized expert personnel. In particular, with regard to the bone remains, they are in a study stage called lateralization, which consists of the meticulous cleaning of each one of them; it identifies which part of the body they correspond to and they are placed in an anatomical position, in such a way that it is possible to determine an approximation of the number of victims, “said the prosecution.

The excavations carried out by the General Coordination of Expert Services (CGSP) will extend to a fourth area in which there are three rooms that were used as homes and an accessory that was used as a dental office.
