The governor of the province of Buenos Aires, Axel Kicillof, highlighted the progress of the Cold Zones law that incorporates Buenos Aires municipalities to the payroll of those who will receive reductions in gas rates.

“Thanks to the # ZonaFría Law, users will pay 70% less than what they would pay if Macri’s tariff scheme continued,” the provincial president wrote on his Twitter social network account.

Along these lines, Kicillof recalled a phrase from the president of the Frente de Todos (FDT) bloc in the Chamber of Deputies, Maximum Kirchner.

“As Máximo said: ‘Recovering the notion of what a public service means for a community is very important. This measure goes in that direction,'” he said.

The Cold Zones Bill, which promotes a reduction in gas rates for municipalities with low temperatures, is for analysis in the Senate, after being sanctioned on Thursday by the Chamber of Deputies.

The initiative modifies an article of the Budget Law 2021 to benefit more than three million inhabitants of municipalities in the provinces of Buenos Aires, Santa Fe, Córdoba, Mendoza, San Juan, San Luis and Salta in which low temperatures are registered .
