Ukrainian and US presidents Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Joseph Biden may sign agreements on military-technical cooperation and cybersecurity during a meeting at the White House in July. This was stated by the deputy head of the Office of the Ukrainian leader Andriy Sibiga in a conversation with the publication “Evropeyskaya Pravda”.
The official assured that this issue has already been included in the agenda of the talks, but at the same time refused to disclose the contents of the documents in advance. “Let us leave this for bilateral negotiations and the finalization of the relevant agreements,” Sibiga said.
He noted that other agreements, including those related to the spheres of ecology and economics, could be signed at the meeting. “We set ambitious goals. We very much hope that, despite the tight schedule for preparing the visit – and this is the end of July – all the necessary preparatory measures will be carried out at the proper level, ”said the deputy head of the office.
On June 7, Zelensky and Biden held a telephone conversation, after which the Ukrainian leader received an invitation to visit the White House in July 2021. Later, his Office attributed to the American president words about support for the republic’s accession to NATO, which he did not utter, and former President Petro Poroshenko even stated that without his participation it would not have been possible to arrange a meeting.
