Will be "essential workers" the table authorities and will double your per diem

Those elected as polling station officials for the Compulsory Simultaneous Open Primaries (PASO) and this year’s legislative elections will be declared “essential” workers. In addition, the amount of the per diem they receive for this task will be doubled.

The national government will take these measures to ensure greater citizen participation in the next elections.

It should be remembered that the National Electoral Chamber (CNE) signed an extraordinary agreement in which they asked the Government to adopt specific measures to guarantee the proper election of polling station authorities, in the framework of this coronavirus pandemic.

The actions requested by the electoral Justice -among them the vaccination of the table authorities- have already been transmitted by the Ministry of the Interior to the Health Ministry.

As the objective of the Interior portfolio is to encourage participation, the amount allocated to the per diem received by the polling station authorities in the two elections, scheduled for September 12 and November 14, will also double.

In its agreement, the CNE also decided to reduce the age range of the selected voters, which this time will be between people between 18 and 55 years of age, and ratified the obligation that affiliates of political parties be excluded from the selection process. .
