Volleyball player of the Novy Urengoy Fakel Aleksey Chanchikov was beaten up in Moscow. This was reported by Vechernyaya Moskva with reference to a law enforcement source.

The fight with the participation of the athlete took place on Sunday, June 6, on Novoslobodskaya Street, but it became known about it only now. The volleyball player intervened in the scuffle to separate the fighters, but received a kick in the head from an unknown person. After that, Chanchikov fell on the asphalt, hit the back of his head and lost consciousness. The video of the incident was published by Telegram channel 112.

Fakel told REN TV that the athlete was hospitalized with a concussion. Now his health has improved, on Saturday, June 12, Chanchikov should be discharged from the hospital.

On the fact of the incident, a criminal case was initiated under the article “Intentional infliction of grievous bodily harm.” It is clarified that law enforcement officers have already identified the identity of the suspect.
