Amazon founder Jeff Bezos succeeded Bernard Arnault as head of LVMH fashion house and became the richest man in the world again. The latter was at the top of the list for about two weeks, writes Forbes.
Billionaire Jeff Bezos regained his first place on the list of the richest people on Thursday thanks to the growth of Amazon shares by more than two percent. Bezos’ equity capital increased by $ 3.5 billion. Bernard Arnault’s LVMH shares fell 1 percent, cutting the former richest businessman’s fortune by $ 1.4 billion.
Bezos’s fortune on June 11 is $ 193.5 billion, Arno is in second place in the rating – $ 192.9 billion, in third place is the creator of Tesla and SpaceX Elon Musk with $ 152.7 billion.
Much of Bezos’s net worth comes from stocks in Amazon, which he previously ran. The billionaire owns about 10 percent of the e-commerce giant. Part of Bezos’ income comes from real estate investments and assets of the aerospace organization Blue Origin. On Monday, the founder of Amazon said that on July 20, he and his brother will make the first space flight from the company.
Arnault’s growth in wealth over the past 14 months is associated with good performance in the coronavirus pandemic of LVMH, which includes the brands Luis Vuitton, Christian Dior, Hennessy, Givenchy, Kenzo and Bulgari.
