In a second message, the INE reported the possible sanctions for both the party and the people who issued the messages.
For the Green Party, the possible sanctions would be: a reprimand, a 100,000-day SMG fine, a reduction of up to 50% of its financing, and in the case of serious and repeated conduct, the cancellation of its registration.
In the case of individuals, the INE pointed out that the sanctions could be a public reprimand or a fine of up to 2,000 days of General Minimum Wage (SMG). While the legal entities (which may be the agencies) would be entitled to a fine of up to 100,000 days of SMG.
The characters involved will be summoned to relieve evidence and it will be the TEPJF that determines if there are infractions and the sanctions that will be imposed in each case.
Just this Thursday, the Special Prosecutor’s Office for Electoral Crimes (FISEL) reported that it initiated an investigation against the influencers who issued messages in favor of the PVEM.
The agency detailed that it has received “numerous complaints through its citizen service systems”, related to messages from national television actors and actresses, singers and content creators on the internet, who promoted the vote for the party on the 5th and 5th June 6th.
“The Electoral Prosecutor’s Office, of this FGR, has initiated the corresponding investigations of these messages, which have been widely disseminated by the media”he explained.
