The Court of Violence against Women of Jerez opens preliminary proceedings against ‘El Cigala’

The Court of Violence against Women of Jerez de la Frontera has initiated preliminary proceedings for an alleged crime of habitual abuse against Diego Ramón Jiménez Salazar, known as Diego ‘El Cigala’, arrested in Madrid last Wednesday night after being denounced by a woman.

As reported by the TSJA, after reporting the events to the Jerez National Police, the woman has appeared on the morning of this Friday before the Court of Violence against Women of Jerez and has ratified the complaint.

Now, the Court is pending receipt of the proceedings of the Madrid Court of Violence against Women on guard duty before which the detainee appeared on Thursday, who was provisionally released.

It should be remembered that after being released, ‘El Cigala’ told Europa Press that he was very happy and that he was going to sing for Malaga. Regarding the reason for his arrest, he replied: “Sure it’s money, women always want money.”

Freedom was agreed upon not appreciating the risk of flight. For his part, his lawyer highlighted at the gates of court that he understood that “there is no evidence whatsoever to support this complaint.”
