State received 3,048 applications for 500 internship vacancies

The State received 3,048 applications for a total of 500 vacancies for the paid internship program in Public Administration for young graduates, informed Lusa, an official source from the Ministry of Modernization of the State and Public Administration.

According to the same source, “3.048 applications were received for the EstagiAP XXI program”, after the deadline was extended to Tuesday.

Minister Alexandra Leitão’s office said on Monday that the extension was made taking into account that there was “a correction” made “in the course of the first day of the deadline”.

It was found that, by mistake, and despite having similar curricula, degrees in Administration and Sports Management, Sports Training and Management of Sports Organizations, Communication Sciences and Multimedia, Graphic Design and Multimedia and Multimedia Design were not initially included”, explained official source.

The diploma that creates and regulates the EstágiAP XXI program was published in March and the ordinance for the start of candidacies, which establishes the distribution of 500 places in public bodies, in various parts of the country, came into force on May 31st.

The internship program is coordinated by the National Institute of Administration (INA) in conjunction with the Institute for Employment and Professional Training (IEFP) and is aimed at young graduates up to 30 years old who are unemployed or looking for their first job or up to 35 years old if they have a disability or incapacity.

The internships last for nine months, and part-time contracts can be signed.

Each intern receives a gross grant of 998.5 euros (subject to taxes and contributions), equivalent to the remuneration of a senior technician at the beginning of their career, or proportional in the case of a partial contract.

Interns will benefit from an increase in the classification given in the final ranking list in a competitive recruitment procedure that is advertised in the two years after the end of the internship.

The analysis of the applications is the responsibility of the INA and the selection and placement procedure is completed within a maximum period of 60 days, according to the diploma published in March.

The internship program was foreseen in the Economic and Social Stabilization Program (PEES) and in the State Budget for 2021 (OE2021), having been established, by proposal of the PCP, that the opening of the internships would have to occur “in the first quarter of 2021 “.
