In Russia, they called relations with the European Union (EU) tending to further degradation. This was stated by the permanent representative of Russia to the EU Vladimir Chizhov on the air of the TV channel “Russia-24”, he is quoted by TASS.
“Our relations, of course, are in an abnormal situation and, alas, have a tendency to further degradation,” the permanent representative said.
Earlier in June, Chizhov, on the sidelines of the SPIEF, commented on the merger’s call to disconnect Russia from the SWIFT interbank system. Journalists asked him whether Moscow feels threatened by such statements by Western politicians. “No, we do not feel [угрозы]… But I am sure that even this will not be a disaster for us, ”Chizhov stressed.
