The new Podcast A+ brings an interview gives Compass with Tania Cosentino, president from Microsoft Brazil. Since January 2019 at the head of the Brazilian subsidiary of one of the largest technology companies in the world, she spoke with the journalist Rafael Lisbôa, director of Compass, about the strategic role of Microsoft in the pandemic by providing digital solutions to different sectors and activities in view of the challenges posed by the new coronavirus.
For the executive, the digital transformation accelerated by Covid is a one-way street and resumption of growth economic development necessarily involves – and increasingly – technological innovation. But Tânia warns: the lack of skilled labor. Today Brazil has about 100,000 vacancies open and, in the next three years, the number should quadruple. She says that large-scale training of professionals for the technology sector should be a priority in the country, and for that, public authorities and private initiative must act together.
Tânia also highlighted the urgent need to search for more inclusion e diversity in the corporate environment, especially in a still predominantly male market such as technology. As program leadership HeForShe of UN Women, she reinforced the importance of affirmative policies in companies to ensure space for under-represented social groups and thus combat inequality and make the business capable of reflecting the plurality of society.
Finally, the executive recalled that, on the horizon of any and every company, the sustainability must be a premise. And, according to her, the future of the technology sector – and of Microsoft, of course – will be increasingly guided by environmental agenda.
