Larissa Manoela, from LariCel: "I always had an entrepreneurial side"

The name of actress Larissa Manoela is very strong among the young audience. One proof is that earlier this week she announced the release of her operator mobile phone, LariCel, and in a few days, almost 2,500 chips were sold. The bet of the new business is precisely the proximity to the artist, who promises to offer exclusive and personalized content to customers.

The actress gave an interview to Exame, and told how her name was to head an operator, her new relationship with the business world and how she deals with the power of influence over younger people. See the main excerpts:

How did the Laricel idea come about?

LariCel is an MVNO operator [ sigla em inglês para operadora móvel virtual], a model that is super common in the US and Europe, but which is still new here. Dry Company was looking for a face to connect with the younger crowd, and I found it super interesting to put my name on this project that it has already caused. They are already known for making something similar with team chips for football fans. In the case of LariCel, it was a one-year research process to see all the details and to get a nice structure to make an operator that offers benefits to users. And, above all, that it brings an offer of telephone service that fits in people’s pockets and that leaves them satisfied.

And what exactly is your role in the new company? Does it go beyond licensing your name?

I am the spokesperson and I carry the name of this new venture with me. Also, I have been an operator customer for many years and, now having my own, I have the chance to put what I always expected from such a company. I will also listen to my audience to bring adjustments and news, building LariCel with this feedback.

Why would anyone switch to LariCel?

In addition to internet plans, we are thinking of bringing special benefits that go beyond telecommunications services. We will have an analysis of the relationship between users and LariCel, so we can reward customers in a personalized way. The idea is to generate a connection with those who follow me. An example would be giving me a new smartphone on my birthday or opening my home in Orlando on a trip to Disney. Something always involved in the universe related to me.

Is this a sign that you want to get more involved in the business world? Is there a chance we’ll see a company under your command?

I think so. I always had this side of wanting to undertake and make a difference in this universe that is always lacking in cool things. As I have such a wide reach, I want to use my voice to transform using positive influences and conscious consumption. I believe this is my purpose within entrepreneurship.

How do you deal with having such power to influence young audiences?

It’s something that has been in my life from a very early age. Since the soap opera Carrossel, which was a milestone in my career, I was already aware of how much I could influence people with my characters and also with my decisions as Larissa Manoela. This was always taken as a responsibility, although it was always very quiet. Of course, I always had follow-up to deal with everything.

Do you plan to become a female lead? What is the importance you give to this?

I’m a reference for my audience, but I also have women who inspire me and I think this is very important for people. I find it amazing to see that a generation of women is coming with their heads aimed at entrepreneurship and transformation. I see it even in friends of mine. And the power of this is very strong, mainly because it shows that women are capable despite the challenges. I also believe in joining forces to make the figure of women more present and more valued in the market. In my case, in the business world, I still have a lot to learn from pioneers.

What would be your reference for this moment where you are taking a foot from the artistic world to put in entrepreneurship?

It’s Selena Gomez. I really like her because she is a complete artist. She is an actress, singer and entrepreneur. And currently works with his own cosmetics brand. She also had a transition phase when she left Disney, something similar to what I live. It was a reference when I was little, and it continues now, when I’m more mature.
