Infections continue to rise in Tenerife with 93 new cases and one deceased

The Ministry of Health of the Government of the Canary Islands today registers 142 new cases of coronavirus COVID-19. The total accumulated cases in the Canary Islands is 57,688 with 1,557 active, of which 26 are admitted to the ICU and 179 remain hospitalized. In the last hours there has been the death of a 57-year-old woman in Tenerife, linked to a family outbreak and with previous pathologies.

The Accumulated Incidence at 7 days in the Canary Islands stands at 38.56 cases per 100,000 inhabitants and at 14 days in 72.24 cases per 100,000 inhabitants.

By islands, Tenerife today adds 93 cases with a total of 25,529 accumulated cases and 985 epidemiologically active cases; Gran Canaria has 22,929 accumulated cases, 32 more than the previous day, and 357 active. Lanzarote adds 14 new cases with 5,630 accumulated and 120 active; Fuerteventura has 2,422 accumulated cases with three more than the previous day and 187 active. La Palma does not add new cases and has 571 accumulated and seven active cases; El Hierro, also without new cases, maintains its accumulated at 371 and no assets. For its part, La Gomera without new cases, has 235 accumulated and one asset.

To date, a total of 1,163,969 PCR tests have been carried out in the Islands, of which 2,323 correspond to yesterday.
