The Ministry of Health of the Canary Islands Government launches today a new vaccination point mass against COVID-19 in the Institute of Social and Social Health Care of the Cabildo de Tenerife, which starts with an ability to manage 300 vaccines per day and that supposes a reinforcement for the zone of Icod and low island.
This new mass vaccination space, which has 6 nurses, orderlies and auxiliary personnel, has a vaccination area and other storage areas, archives, and a waiting room and post-vaccination observation. The vaccination point will work for now from Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
The implementation of this device joins the reinforcement that also begins this weekend in seven health centers on the island with the capacity together to vaccinate 1,600 people. Three of them (Ofra, Icod and San Isidro) will have activity this Saturday aimed at groups 3 and 6 with the capacity to administer 300 serums in each of them and finalize the vaccination of these groups. In addition, the La Guancha health center will have a vaccination point open Saturday and Sunday with capacity for 700 people between the two days.
Booster every Saturday
While the other three health centers (Candelaria, La Laguna-Mercedes and La Orotava Dehesa) will have a vaccination schedule every Saturday with the aim of promoting the vaccination of all age groups that are currently active according to the Vaccination Strategy. against COVID-19.
In this way, Tenerife already has a new mass vaccination point after the start-up of those installed in the Tenerife Fairgrounds, Magma Arte y Congresos, in the Guajara Campus of the University of La Laguna (ULL), in the Garachico Clinic and the Candelaria Technological Center (CTcan), in the Güímar Valley Industrial Park and in the island’s hospitals: the HUC, Ntra. Sra. de la Candelaria and the Hospital del Sur, which complement the vaccination activity for the entire population of the health area of Tenerife.
