Gastronomic school opens in Georgia

The world-famous Basque Culinary Center will help the Georgian side in creating a gastronomic school

TBILISI, 11 Jun – Sputnik. A gastronomic school with the assistance of the Spanish Basque Culinary Center is opening in Georgia, according to the Facebook page of the Ministry of Education and Science.

The gastronomic school will start working in cooperation with the Caucasus University, educational programs will be available for both Georgian and foreign students.

Alberto Rodriguez, the manager of the international development of gastronomic programs of the Basque Culinary Center, is in Georgia. The purpose of his visit is to get acquainted with the gastronomic culture and traditions of Georgia, as well as help in the development and implementation of new programs.

Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Georgia Tamar Kitiashvili met with Rodriguez and representatives of the Caucasus University, and discussed with them the details of the new project and future cooperation.

Kitiashvili believes that cooperation with a world-renowned gastronomic school will have a positive effect in realizing the tourism potential and increasing the country’s gastronomic recognition.

The Basque Culinary Center brings together the most respected experts in the culinary field. San Sebastian hosts a gastronomic forum and world renowned chefs open their gourmet restaurants every day. They are also the founders and active participants of the Basque Culinary Center project, which is one of the five best educational culinary schools in the world.
