LThese words are particularly violent and promise the Jewish community of Béziers “carnage”. In a letter received Wednesday June 9 by the president of the Jewish association of the city, an individual threatens to carry out an attack on the synagogue and then to attack the mayor, Robert Ménard, as well as his wife and to his advisers. According to France Bleu, another threatening letter was received Thursday, June 10 by the Jewish worship association of La Grande-Motte, another commune in Hérault.
“I want to tell you that I, personally, hate this crap breed. You are parasites and even the cancer of mankind, ”it is handwritten in this threatening letter. “I will not take you as a traitor like you do to the Arabs”, “I am very armed. […] I bought two Kalashnikovs just for you, ”says the author.
“More carnage than the Bataclan”
He then says: “I’ll wait until the synagogues are full of vermin, so I do more carnage than the Bataclan.” […] Work finished, I will go see my friend Ménard, his wife and his advisers, and I will empty my magazine on it. »Two complaints were lodged against the author (s) of these missives. Surprisingly, the one addressed to the Jewish community of Béziers would have been signed, and even accompanied by an address located in the region.

The prosecution has opened an investigation for “threats of crimes against people because of race, ethnicity, nation or religion” and for “death threats against elected officials”. Perpetrators of such threats face up to five years in prison. However, the anti-terrorism prosecution has not yet been seized. “This is what it costs right-wing elected officials to always be at the side of the Jewish community in the face of anti-Semitism,” responded Robert Ménard.
