That’s right, the 9 seasons of “American Horror Story” will no longer be available on Amazon Prime Video from Tuesday, June 14. This is one of the most celebrated and popular projects of the well-known producer Ryan Murphy. Thanks to the fact that each season is themed, we can learn the most spooky and bizarre stories, which explore from murders and ghosts, to the end of the world and a circus with phenomena. To take advantage of the time, and perhaps see our favorite season, we present our ranking made based on the opinion of the critics and the author’s criteria. Do not worry! We will avoid as many spoilers as possible.

9. “Hotel” (2015-2016)
The Cortez hotel is the setting for this season. It was founded by James Patrick March (Evan Peters) and is currently led by vampire Elizabeth Johnson (Lady Gaga). She lives with her lover Donovan (Matt Bomer), who is the son of Iris (Kathy Bates), the hotel’s manager and receptionist. John Lowe (Wes Bentley) arrives here, investigating a serial murder case in the name of the 10 commandments, while coping with family problems with his wife Dr. Alex (Chloe Sevigny), after losing their son Holden. Also living in this hotel, reminiscent of Cecil, are Sally (Sarah Paulson), a drug addict, and transgender bartender Liz Taylor (Denis O’Hare).
8. “1984″ (2019)
It takes place during the 80s, in Camp Redwood, a place full of secrets, where a group of friends will serve as monitors. Everything seems to be going well until they discover that there is something that wants to kill them, probably more than one murderer. The season is inspired by various slasher films such as “Friday the 13th,” “Sleepaway Camp” and “Halloween.”
7. “Cult” (2017)
Ally Mayfair-Richards (Sarah Paulson), is a woman who was scared after Donald Trump came to power after the US presidential elections. Thus, their traumas and phobias emerge. Meet Kai (Evan Peters), a manipulative neighbor who recruits people to form a cult and take over the world, imposing fear through violent acts done by clowns. The season also revolves around Ally’s wife, Ivy (Alison Pill) who breaks up trying to protect her son, Oz.
6. “Roanoke” (2016)
The story begins with a documentary titled “My Roanoke Nightmare.” Shelby (Lily Rabe), is a yoga teacher who moves to North Carolina after suffering an abortion. She and her husband, Matt Miller (Andre Holland), buy a 17th-century home, which in the past was the scene of several murders. They are unaware that some ghosts live in the nearby forest and that they are also in the territory of a forest witch, Scathatch (Lady Gaga), who falls in love with Matt. The documentary shows how Matt, Shelby and Lee Harris (Angela Bassett) try to survive the dangers that lurk.
5. “Apocalypse” (2018)
In 2020, a nuclear holocaust breaks out and results in the destruction of living things. Leslie Grossman plays Coco St. Pierre Vanderbilt, a millionaire heiress who is taken to a secret underground bunker known as Outpost 3, where she will live with all kinds of people. This site is run by Wihelmina (Sarah Paulson) and Miriam (Kathy Bates), who punish its residents for all kinds of indiscretions. Before long, Michael Langdon (Cody Fern), the son of Murder House’s Tate Langdon and Vivien Harmon, arrives at the shelter to assess who will pass into another unidentified space. The witches of Coven will make an incredible appearance with one purpose only: to stop the Antichrist.
4. “Murder House” (2011)
The first season takes place in 2011 and follows the Harmon family, who move to Los Angeles after Vivien (Connie Britton) has a miscarriage and Ben (Dylan McDermott), an affair with one of their students. Together with his daughter Violet (Taissa Farmiga), they will start a new life in the dark house, known for being the place of various crimes. The family will spend time with the old residents of the house: the Langdon, made up of Constance (Jessica Lange) and her daughter Addie (Jamie Brewer). For her part, Violet deals with depression and self-harm, while finding solace in Tate (Evan Peters), her father’s patient.
3. “Freak Show” (2014 – 2015)
The plot is presented in the small town of Jupiter, Florida (United States), in 1952. Here we find one of the last freak circuses, whose members will do everything to keep their business afloat. They are directed by the owner of the show, Elsa Mars (Jessica Lange) and we find the Siamese girls Bette and Dott (Sarah Paulson); the young lobster hands, Jimmy (Evan Peters); the bearded woman, Ethel (Kathy Bates) and the super strong man, Dell (Michael Chiklis). Everything gets complicated when a con artist arrives, who plans to kill the artists with the help of Maggie (Emma Roberts).
2. “Coven” (2013- 2014)
Here the witches are the protagonists. It is set in 2013 and features flashbacks from the 19th century. When Zoe (Taissa Farmiga) discovers that she has amazing abilities, she is sent to Miss Robicheaux’s Academy, an institute where witches try to maintain their lineage by fighting their enemies. There we meet the whimsical Madison (Emma Roberts), Queenie (Gabourey Sidibe), Nan (Jamie Brewer) and Cordelia (Sarah Paulson), director of the institute and daughter of Fiona (Jessica Lange), the Supreme witch of the coven. They will face witch hunters and the Voodoo queen Marie Laveau (Angela Bassett).
1. “Asylum” (2012- 2013)
Set in 1964, this season takes us to the Briarcliff Catholic Asylum, a Church haven for criminals with mental health problems. Jessica Lange plays Sister Jude, a nun with a troubled past but who rules the institution with an iron fist. Lana Winters (Sarah Paulson) arrives here, a journalist who wants to investigate one of the new residents of the center: Kit Walker (Evan Peters), accused of being the murderer Bloody Face. Strange events take place in the madhouse, where bad practices, terror, abuse and pain reign.
“Double Future” and future seasons
In 2018, the series renewed for a tenth season. Last year, Murphy revealed via Instagram that figures like Kathy Bates, Sarah Paulson, Leslie Grossman, Billie Lourd, Evan Peters, Lily Rabe Y Macaulay Culkin (yes, that of “My poor angel”) would be part of the cast. Although it was postponed by the pandemic, in March of this year it was announced that the name of the season would be “Double Feature”. Its premiere was scheduled for August 2021 and, according to Murphy, they would explore two stories in a single season. In addition, in 2020 they renewed for three more seasons.
