The Sofia Juarez affair dates from 2003. In fact, this case was Washington State’s first Amber alert. Sofia had disappeared without leaving any trace on February 4, 2003. A cruel lack of information which had prevented the investigation from progressing. Recently, a video that went viral on the networks updated the information of the investigation. It is a young woman from Culiacán, Mexico, around 22 years old, who is at the center of this buzz. In a video, she declares dislike birthdays. “The truth is I don’t like to have birthdays“, she said last March in Spanish in an interview with a Mexican social media personality.
Subsequently, she clearly confides to her interviewer thatshe was there against her will and that’she wants to be rescued by her family. “JI wanna tell them to come get me cause I’m here kidnapped“, she said. This video on TikTok quickly went around the network. Informants have even contacted Washington State Police with serious police doubts about the young woman’s identity.

Following this video, the police received a wealth of information and even tried toget in touch with the woman on the video. In particular, the police want to do a DNA test to find out if it is really Sofia. “We must try to go all the way to find out if it’s Sofia or not“, investigator Al Wehner told PEOPLE. Of course, the police have already been in contact with the family of the woman who denied this fact.
In the meantime, the police have had new information on the case including the description of a possible suspect. This is a boy of Hispanic origin between the ages of 11 and 13 who would have approached the little girl in 2003 on a sidewalk in South Washington Street near East 15th Avenue. This fellow with short, wavy, brown hair allegedly pushed the little girl in a light blue or silver / gray 70s / 80s van.
