The Ministry of the Environment (MiAMBIENTE) reported that the staff of Verification of the Environmental Performance of the Regional Directorate of Metropolitan Panama carried out an evaluation of the affected area on the coasts of the Island of Taboga due to the spill of a polluting substance.
In a brief statement, MiAMBIENTE indicated that the staff “is in the process of assessing the spill“, which means that the study is carried out two days after this accident occurred.

The first to carry out an evaluation was the technical team of the Pollution Prevention and Control Department of the Panama Maritime Authority (AMP), which began on the same day of the spill Containment works for the spill of an unidentified substance on the island.
