In Dagestan, security forces stormed a shelter for women who escaped from violence

In Dagestan, Chechen security forces stormed a shelter apartment where women victims of domestic violence were hiding. This is reported by “Kavkaz.Realii”, included by the Ministry of Justice of Russia in the Register of foreign mass media performing the functions of a foreign agent.

According to media reports, the assault was carried out with the support of Dagestani colleagues. The security forces were looking for a Chechen girl who had fled to Dagestan, she, along with the activists from the shelter, were detained and taken to the police.

At the same time, the police said that they wanted to “take explanations from a girl on the federal wanted list,” however, as soon as the door was opened for them, they rushed inside. According to human rights activist Svetlana Anokhina, the police and unknown men “dragged her by the legs and arms, hit her several times and dragged her and several women out of the shelter.”
