Brazil surpasses the mark of 17 million cases of Covid-19

In the last 24 hours, the Brazil registered 52.911 new cases of Covid-19. With this number, the country surpassed this Tuesday, 8, the mark of 17 million infected since the beginning of the pandemic, in March 2020. In total, it rose to 17.037.129 the number of cases registered in the country. In the last seven days, the moving average was 58.950 new diagnoses per day. In addition, in the last 24 hours, 2.378 deaths by the new coronavirus – the amount increased to 476.792 the total number of deaths caused by the disease. With that, the moving average of deaths in the last 7 days reached 1.656. The lethality rate remained stable at 2.8%, while other indicators increased in the last 24 hours. This is the case of the mortality rate, which went to 226.9 per 100 thousand inhabitants. The incidence rate reached 8,107.2 per 100,000 inhabitants. The data were released by National Council of Health Secretaries (Conass) through a bulletin update made this Tuesday.
