CHINA – The fastest is not always where you expect it to be. On Sunday, May 30, a 100-meter race was held at Datong University in northern China’s Shanxi Province. In front of a crowd gathered on each side of the track, the race had an unexpected outcome. The fastest of this test was none other than the cameraman, as you can see in the video at the top of the article.
Hao Xiaoyang is a final year student. During this race, he only had to capture images as close as possible to the athletes. Installed in an outside corridor of the track, several meters in front of the runners, he too sets off in order to film dynamic images.
Yet he stole the show from the athletes. As the race begins, neither of them can catch up with the cameraman, who goes it alone in the lead. An impressive performance. Hao Xiaoyang runs holding the camera and tries to stabilize it as best as possible towards the runners.
The cameraman’s run was praised by many Chinese internet users. The student, who will graduate with a bachelor’s degree in physical education, has shown all of his remarkable athletic skills. But for him, the essential is elsewhere: he simply wanted, as he told the Reuters news agency, to make the most beautiful images possible of his race.
