The family life of the stars fascinates their many fans. Those of the France team will discover the intimacy of the players in a special issue of Restricted zone, broadcast on M6 this Sunday, June 6, 2021. Lucas Hernandez participated and delivered on the abandonment of his father, a drama that he also mentioned to the Parisian.
Lucas Hernandez will be one of the protagonists of Fathers, husbands and football icons: the Blues with an open heart, title of the next Restricted zone. “Everyone knows the soccer player, much less the man. I felt the need and the desire to open up a little more to the French. To tell my story, how I grew up, how I built myself to be where I am today. It was not easy, indeed. But I spoke with my heart“, he explains to Parisian in an interview published on Saturday 5 June.
The difficulty for the defender of the Blues was to come back on the abandonment of his father, Jean-François Hernandez, which occurred in 2003. His two sons, Lucas and Theo, were then 7 and 5 years old. The former footballer spent by Toulouse Football Club, Olympique de Marseille or Atletico Madrid had ended his career the previous year.
Nobody knows anything about him
“I never understood and I will never understand how mine could have left overnight by abandoning us, my mother, my little brother Théo and me, confides Lucas Hernandez to Parisian on the drama of his childhood. No one knows anything about him. If one day he came back and expressed the desire to see me, I would agree to meet him. If he wants to give me an explanation and then leave, no problem. Biologically he is my father, but I will never consider him to be such. What he has done is irreparable.“
