Charles Leclerc long first in the Azerbaijan GP

The Monegasque pilot Charles Leclerc (Ferrari) will start today first in the Azerbaijan Grand Prix, which will be run on the sixth round of the World Championship

Leclerc got his second consecutive F1 pole position on Saturday after doing it two weeks ago in Monaco, his country, this time escorted by the sevenfold champion, the British Lewis Hamilton, from Mercedes.

On the second row of the starting grid were the Dutch Max Verstappen (Red Bull), current World Cup leader, and the French Pierre Gasly (Alpha Tauri).

The second Ferrari driver, the Spanish Carlos Sainz, ranked fifth and will start ahead of the British Lando Norris, racer of the McLaren team.

The Mexican Sergio perez (Red Bull) ranked seventh; the japanese novice Yuki Tsunoda (AlphaTauri), eighth; the two-time Spanish world champion Fernando Alonso (Alpine-Renault), ninth and Finnish Valtteri Bottas (Mercedes), tenth.

The Azerbaijan Grand Prix will start at 9 am with Star Action televised 51 laps on the 6,003-kilometer-long Baku City route.

Verstappen, who won last date in Monaco, will defend the top of the World Cup with 105 points, four more than Hamilton.
