The amazement caused by Real Madrid does not stop. Your resource store is bottomless. His responses to the plague of casualties he suffers or the difficulties that Valencia posed him were more than convincing. They gave him a first win by 81-70, essential for the becoming of an express semifinal, to the best of three games, and contributed to the exaltation of the festival that was lived in the WiZink, where a thousand spectators could return after almost 15 months behind closed doors. Madrid celebrated with victory, with the debut in the first team of the 17-year-old base Juan Núñez and with the party for the title obtained in the junior Euroleague after defeating Barça in the final yesterday morning in Valencia.

The incorporation of Núñez was necessary given the casualties of Llull and Laprovittola, who had left only Alocén in the base position, and the injured Randolph and Thompkins and those of Abalde and Felipe Reyes, positive for the covid, were added. To make matters worse, Rudy Fernández had to retire with discomfort at the beginning of the last quarter and very shortly afterwards Garuba also injured a calf.

Madrid managed everything. He came out in a whirlwind (30-14), made a show of overwhelming superiority on the rebound (52 sacks, 19 more than his rival) and knew how to correct when the centers of Valencia, Tobey and Dubljevic, demonstrated their versatility and narrowed the gap with five triples (44-41). Tavares (17 points and 11 rebounds) dominated in the paint, Garuba fought like a colossus in the most effortful actions (6 points, 12 rebounds and 3 blocks), Causeur showed his aim (five triples and 24 points).

In three minutes, Real Madrid had already deployed the entire catalog: outside shooting with Taylor above all, one on one by Carroll against Sastre and his constant hammering inside the area with six points from Tavares. Valencia suffered in defense and also in attack, with disjointed and meaningless movements. Madrid added 20 points in six minutes and an advantage of 12. Ponsarnau instructed his players. Either they ensured the rebound on defense or they had nothing to do. They did it. And the decor changed, but only for a short time. Garuba Y Tavares imposed their law again and as Taylor and Causeur broke their short slump in the outside shot, Madrid increased their dominance, reached their maximum advantage (71-54) and left the game resolved with five minutes remaining.
