Policemen were on their regular rounds when they were shot by criminals, according to preliminary reports.
A showdown between criminals and units of the National Police left a death toll and 6 wounded, in an incident registered in Calle M, in the Calidonia district.
The man who died was identified as Juan Aizprúa Sánchez, of Panamanian nationality, whose body ended up lying on the pavement in the middle of his own blood. The wounded were taken to the emergency room of the Santo Tomás Hospital.
It was known that the fact of blood was registered when the criminals shot at the uniformed when they made a routine round of the place and National Police agents defended themselves by responding to this attack.
The fact of blood occurs a few blocks from where the San Miguel police substation is located, so the uniformed officers quickly arrived at the crime scene and surrounded the place to protect the evidence.
