Bonn –

A bitter end to an otherwise great season for the U21s of 1. FC Köln. Mark Zimmermann’s team lost 1-0 to neighboring Bonner SC on June 5, but ended the season in an excellent fifth place. On the 42nd matchday of the Regionalliga West both teams were at the end of their game.

  • 500 fans were allowed to visit the Sportpark Nord in Bonn
  • 1. FC Köln remains in 5th place in the regional league
  • Bonner SC is sure to stay in the league

500 spectators in the north sports park in Bonn

Finally, once again spectators: After a season full of ghost games, the players of Bonner SC and the U21s of 1. FC Köln in the Nordstadion were happy. 500 fans were allowed and the game was of course sold out.

The fans did not get much to see, however, the game was relatively unlikely, while the Bonner SC would remain in the league if nothing changed for the guests in fifth place either.

Robert Voloder hits the goal of 1. FC Köln

Above all, one person should have been annoyed by the conclusion: Defender Robert Voloder was the involuntary shooter of the only goal. Dario Schumacher had flanked into the Cologne penalty area, Daniel Somuah had missed and Voloder hit his own net unhappily.

After that, the Cologne team lacked the strength to brace themselves after five games without defeat against the bankruptcy in the third-bottom of the Regionalliga. Now the team is going on a well-deserved vacation, some of whom will be looking for their chance for the Bundesliga squad in Steffen Baumgart’s professional team in the new season.

Relegation! Cheering scenes at Bonner SC

Cheering scenes, on the other hand, among the Bonners and their fans: Because Homberg lost in Ahlen, the sports club remained third to last and is therefore free of all worries. Although Borussia Dortmund II has objected to some game ratings, the federal city can no longer relegate.
