LDPR leader Vladimir Zhirinovsky did not recognize the governor of the Sverdlovsk region Yevgeny Kuyvashev and confused him with the first deputy Alexander Vysokinsky, reports URA.RU.
The meeting of politicians took place at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF) and was featured on video. The footage shows how Zhirinovsky approached the Sverdlovsk delegation and asked politicians to explain who is who.
“And you [кто]? ” – the leader of the Liberal Democratic Party asked Kuyvashev. “Governor,” he replied. “Also Sverdlovsk? How so – two governors? And who is he? ” – Zhirinovsky was surprised, pointing to Vysokinsky, whom he initially took for the head of the region.
After meeting, the politician asked the governor of the Sverdlovsk region why the LDPR has weak positions in the Urals. Zhirinovsky advised to strengthen them, since “everywhere the Liberal Democratic Party is stronger than in the Urals.” Kuyvashev promised to work on it.
“They work day and night! Don’t push! The President is not asking you to do this. He is waiting for fair elections – United Russia and the Liberal Democratic Party. Sweep the rest of all! This is the right approach, you know? ” – said Zhirinovsky, and then left.
SPIEF takes place from 2 to 5 June in St. Petersburg. This year, the business program of the forum is dedicated to issues of the global and domestic economy, social issues and technology development.
