WHO calls on countries to accelerate the donation of vaccines to COVAX

Countries must accelerate the donation of vaccines to the international COVAX mechanism, created to reduce inequality in the distribution of these products, to reach the goal of 40% of the population of each country being vaccinated by the end of this yearsaid today the person in charge of this program in the World Health Organization (WHO), Bruce Aylward.

While the most developed countries –Germany, France, New Zealand and Japan, among others- They have pledged to donate millions of doses of vaccines that they will have as surpluses from their own immunization programs, most have said that deliveries to COVAX will be made throughout 2021.
