Saltillo, Coahuila.- The National System for the Integral Development of the Family (DIF) in Coahuila, has received 8 thousand 01 requests to access the Support Program for Funeral Expenses, however, the Ministry of Health in Coahuila has only registered 6 1,280 deaths from this cause in the state, a difference of 1,721.

These requests were received since December 2, 2020, when the Federal Government implemented this program for people who have lost a family member due to Covid-19 and until May 23, 2021.

According to a request for information, most of the requests are concentrated in Torreón with 2 thousand 451 requests for support to access the 11 thousand 460 pesos, Saltillo with 2 thousand 19 requests and Monclova with 848.

Followed by Piedras Negras with 316 and Matamoros with 304 requests for support of funeral expenses for Covid-19, although the registry enters a review process to confirm that the death was due to the virus, and that the applicant is related.

The relatives who mostly carried out this process in Coahuila were the descendants of the deceased, since 2,572 requests were made by the daughters and 1,950 by the sons, followed by the wives of the deceased with a total of 1,889 requests.
