Russian President Vladimir Putin spoke at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum about attempts to hinder the promotion of the Russian vaccine against coronavirus in the world. This is reported by TASS.

At a meeting with representatives of the international investment community and foreign manufacturing companies of Sputnik V, he called “strange and counterproductive actions of some of our partners, who are openly trying to prevent by any means, to limit the use of the Russian vaccine.” According to Putin, when it comes to preserving health, saving people’s lives, political and other differences should be left aside.

At the same time, the Russian leader noted, the effectiveness of the Russian vaccine is one of the highest in the world, and “all side effects are just a temperature rise for a couple of hours. There are no lethal outcomes and we hope there won’t be, ”he said.

Putin also called for the countries to join efforts to prevent a resumption of the pandemic. “If foci of this infection remain somewhere in the world, then these foci can serve as a trigger for them to spread again to the entire planet. This affects millions of people, it is very dangerous, and we need to do everything in order not to politicize these processes, ”he is sure.
