More than 600 thousand have renegotiated with the banks

The executive president of the Banking Association of Panama, Carlos Berguido alleged that more than 600 thousand people have managed to negotiate a new agreement with their banks on terms and conditions.

When the crisis started, some 862 thousand transactions or loans to individuals and another 36 thousand to companies, were unable to pay normally.

So far half of the modified loans have made arrangements. The amount of loans that have been affected by the Covid-19 pandemic represents an amount of $ 23 billion.

Carlos Berguido called on clients who availed themselves of financial relief conditions to contact their banks to negotiate new terms and was opposed to a moratorium law.
