Elise Mertens and doubles partner Hsieh Su-Wei have qualified for the 1/8th finals at Roland Garros. They needed just over an hour against the Anisimova-Potapova duel.
Mertens is having a great first week on the gravel in the French capital. In doubles she is now in the 1/8th finals. In it she meets Iga Swiatek, the defending champion in singles. She plays alongside Bethanie Mattek-Sands.
Mertens and Su-Wei are the first seed in Paris. And they showed that against the American Anisimova and the Russian Potapova. After 1 hour and 10 minutes the job was done. However, it is the first time that Mertens has played alongside Su-Wei in a grand slam.
