Spain exceeds 10 million vaccinated with the complete schedule: What is the next milestone announced by Sánchez?

Eight residents of the Sevillian town of Gelves have received this Friday, by mistake, a multiplied dose of the COVID vaccine from Pfizer and are in their homes monitored by the local health center.

The Ministry of Health and Families has confirmed that it is eight people who have received the injection undiluted at the Mobile Vaccination Unit located in neighboring San Juan de Aznalfarache.

Once this incident was detected, these people have moved from the vaccination site to the San Juan de Aznalfarache Health Center where they have been treated by a Primary Care doctor, who has carried out the corresponding care and review.

Said users are controlled according to established protocols and followed by health personnel at home and will continue until midnight. 72 hours later, without, for the moment, having presented adverse effects.

The Ministry of Health and Families indicates that, according to the first clinical trials carried out with an increase in the dose administered in the same vaccination act, it was observed that it was not accompanied especially by an increase in the risk of adverse effects when twice the usual dose was used.

The incident has been reported to both Andalusian Pharmacovigilance Center as well as the Autonomous Incident and Adverse Event Notification System.

Health sources consulted have indicated that people who have received the vaccines could develop reactions such as headaches, muscle aches, or dizziness, but in the few precedents that are known, the symptoms remitted within a few days.

A case is known in northern Germany and of an Italian nurse, and in all cases the symptoms disappeared as days go by.

The same health workers who participated in the administration of the vaccine they realized the mistake and they notified the people who had been inoculated.
