Conmebol: Revealed VAR audio on Cabecita Rodríguez's annulled goal

The Conmebol revealed this Friday the audio of the VAR during Cabecita Rodríguez’s annulled goal with Uruguay and that generated great controversy on social networks.

And it is that the goal of the Cruz Azul player was annulled for an alleged offside after consulting the WHERE, so the central referee invalidated the goal.

In the broadcast audio it can be seen that the VAR did not take into account that Matías Viña, which was ahead had no participation in the play, so Conmebol pointed out that it was badly annulled.

“Being in an offside position is not an offense. In this case, the celestial player does not interfere, does not participate, does not gain advantage of his position and should not be penalized. The VAR, in this case, should have looked for angles and speeds to evaluate both the position and the participation of the player in the offside position in order to determine that it is not a violation. Arbitration decision: incorrect, ”said the agency.

Following this error, Colombian referees Miguel Roldán and Nicolás Gallo were suspended indefinitely.
