Moroni: "We are making real wages grow"

The Minister of Labor participated in the meeting of the Economic Cabinet and spoke about the requests of certain unions for a 45% salary agreement. Asked about the development of joint ventures and the request of some unions to obtain agreements close to 40%, the Minister of Labor recalled that the objective of the national government is for the real salary to “grow.”

Claudio Moroni denied a failure of the inflation target. “We propose that the real salary grows, and we are achieving that. We are trying to make the parity go within a certain channel,” he said.

Beyond the real salary growth, Moroni pointed out that all the agreements that are being worked on have some revision clause between September and December. “We are confusing a calendar year with a joint exercise. If you take June against June, inflation was forty-odd points, with which, sometimes having a joint with a significant number does not mean that it is not complying with the guidelines that we have” he added.

The Economic Cabinet meeting was held this afternoon at Casa Rosada and was led by the Chief of Staff, Santiago Cafiero, who was accompanied by Ministers Matías Kulfas, Martín Guzmán. The Deputy Chief of Cabinet, Cecilia Todesca, the head of the AFIP, Mercedes Marcó del Pont, and the head of the Central Bank, Miguel Pesce, also participated.
