Aurélie, 43, is no longer interested in her work. In the aftermath of the holidays, the recovery is difficult for this sales manager specializing in hair products. The Sunday night blues and the Monday morning torture are even worse when you return from vacation. “I feel like my job doesn’t make sense,” she explains. Since I am well paid and a lot of companies are laying people off, I feel stuck. So I try to make good heart against bad luck, to be efficient, pleasant. But I slip into depression. I don’t even have the energy to look elsewhere. ”

“It’s normal to have ups and downs. But at a time when it is appropriate to flourish at work, those who are bored there – it is the lot of many – feel terribly guilty. In Aurélie’s case, it’s probably not just boredom since she’s only been in this position for two years. Perhaps she is also experiencing a personal crisis that affects her professional motivation. Perhaps the environment (his colleagues, his sector) has become difficult. But it is more likely that the loss of meaning encountered in his task is related to the fact that his needs are no longer being met. What pushed her towards this profession no longer corresponds to her motivations, or else the reality of the profession is disappointing compared to the idea that she had of it. Our professional life is thus made up of cycles interspersed with crises. Questioning oneself makes them fruitful. ”
“Breathe out. If the loss of desire is also about your privacy, take a vacation, make new plans with those you love. Reconnecting with pleasure in his personal life gives heart to the work. Think about your professional needs, what fulfills you the most, what gives you the greatest satisfaction, the greatest pride. Be useful; creative? Learn ? Work alone or in a team; at a sustained pace or with time; with specific tasks or the freedom to improvise? What job have you always dreamed of doing and why? Do not hesitate to follow a few coaching sessions to see more clearly.
Make choices. In light of this reflection, see what can be improved in the position you hold, or that can be fulfilled in other ways – through volunteer activity, artistic activity, travel. Ask to evolve. Or prepare for your departure: use your right to training, send your CV, to see. Keep in mind that the door is open and multiply the meetings to discover other professions and have a crush. ”
