This May 30, the first and only official debate organized by the Electoral Institute of Coahuila among the candidates for the municipal presidency of Saltillo.
Gabriela de Leon Farías, President Counselor of that electoral body, reported that the exercise, which will be carried out virtually, as the three previous ones have been, will last approximately two hours.
He clarified that the issue to be addressed is completely free for the applicants who participate.
“As they compete for mayor, what we want to hear are the proposals of the candidates about what their work program is.”, He reiterated By León Farías.
In the case of Saltillo, up to seven applicants may participate, after two of them, Vanessa Virginia Villarreal Narro, from PES; and Christian Ildefonso Cabello Romero, from UDC; they declined to participate in the contest.
Regarding the format, De León Farías pointed out that first there will be a presentation round of two minutes maximum per participant; later a second block of interventions of up to 5 minutes per candidate, in which they will present their proposals.
“Finally, it will be another three minutes (maximum per participant) to close, that is the proposal”, Explained the electoral councilor.
He stressed that the debate will be broadcast from 11:00 hours this Sunday, May 30 through the IEC social networks from Facebook and YouTube.
By emphasizing that participation in this meeting is not mandatory, I inform that those who so decide have a maximum period of time to confirm their participation until Saturday May 29, that is, one day before the event.
“Candidates will be able to present their ideas, their proposals and the public will have the opportunity to contrast them, so it is important so that we can cast an informed vote”, he stressed.
