JOBS – An electric battery factory of the Chinese group Envision will be set up in Douai (North) to supply the car manufacturer Renault, with 2,000 jobs to the key, affirms this Saturday, May 29 the daily Le Figaro.
“The Chinese Envision will announce in a few weeks the creation in Douai of its factory of electric batteries in France”, indicates the newspaper.
“Two thousand jobs will be created there by 2025, when the site will have reached all its capacities”, details Le Figaro, recalling that the Chinese group, specializing in renewable energies, announced in September its intention to set up in France. “The state, the region and the agglomeration will provide financial support for this installation”, according to the daily.
Become “the biggest” electric car manufacturing hub in Europe
Last month, Renault CEO Luca de Meo announced that he would soon detail his strategy in the production of electric vehicles and affirmed in the Sunday Newspaper that its electric car manufacturing hub in the North could “become the largest in Europe”.
According to Financial Times As of Wednesday, the Japanese manufacturer Nissan is in “advanced talks” with the British government to build a giant battery factory in the United Kingdom to be managed by Envision.
Envision acquired AESC, the electric battery division of Nissan, two years ago.
